Explanation
No one can swim the great sea of births but those who are unified to the feet of God

தென்புலத்தார் தெய்வம் விருந்தொக்கல் தானென்றாங்கு
ஐம்புலத்தாறு ஓம்பல் தலை.

The manes, the gods, guests, kin and self
should be one’s five chief concerns.

பழியஞ்சிப் பாத்தூண் உடைத்தாயின் வாழ்க்கை
வழியெஞ்சல் எஞ்ஞான்றும் இல்.

His line will endure who shuns ill
And share what he eats.

அன்பும் அறனும் உடைத்தாயின் இல்வாழ்க்கை
பண்பும் பயனும் அது.

Love and virtue are the flower and fruit
Of domestic life.

இன்சொலால் ஈத்தளிக்க வல்லார்க்குத் தன்சொலால்
தான்கண் டனைத்திவ் வுலகு.
Stanza 387
The world will yield all to that king
Who is sweet spoken and liberal.
Meaning:
The world will praise and submit itself to the mind of the king who is able to give with affability, and to protect all who come to him.
