தனக்குவமை இல்லாதான் தாள்சேர்ந்தார்க் கல்லால்
மனக்கவலை மாற்றல் அரிது.

None can be free from carping care
Save those at the feet beyond compare.
Explanation
Apprehension of mind cannot be removed, excluding from those who are unified to the feet of God who is incomparable.

Hunger, dread, disease, will never touch
One who shares his food?

துணைத்துணை வேள்விப் பயன்.

The gains of hospitality cannot be reckoned:
Their worth depends on the guest.

பரிந்தோம்பிப் பற்றற்றேம் என்பர் விருந்தோம்பி
வேள்வி தலைப்படா தார்.

“We gathered and we lost”, rue those
Who never entertained?

உடைமையுள் இன்மை விருந்தோம்பல் ஓம்பா
மடமை மடவார்கண் உண்டு.

To have no guest is to want amidst plenty:
Such poverty belongs to fools.

அன்பிற்கும் உண்டோ அடைக்குந்தாழ் ஆர்வலர்
புன்கணீர் பூசல் தரும்.

Can love be hatched and hidden? A trickling tear
Will proclaim it love.

துன்பத்துள் துன்பங் கெடின்.

Joy unceasing shall flow.

A cold look withers a guest.

With their very bones help others.

பிறவாழி நீந்தல் அரிது.

The feet of the lord with the virtue-wheel
Will help to cross the sea of birth.
Explanation
No one can swim the sea of vice, but those who are unified to the feet of that gracious being who is a sea of virtue.
