Delights a scholar.
Meaning:
The learned will long (for more learning), when they see that while it gives pleasure to themselves, the world also derives pleasure from it.

கேடில் விழுச்செல்வம் கல்வி யொருவற்கு
மாடல்ல மற்றை யவை.
Stanza 400
The wealth which never declines
Is not riches but learning.
Meaning:
Learning is the true imperishable riches; all other things are not riches.

துன்புறூஉம் துவ்வாமை இல்லாகும் யார்மாட்டும்
இன்புறூஉம் இன்சொ லவர்க்கு.

அகர முதல எழுத்தெல்லாம் ஆதி
பகவன் முதற்றே உலகு.
உரை:
‘அ’ எனும் அகர ஒலி எலுத்துகளில் முதலாவது போல உலகம் ஆதியாகிய கடவுளை முதலாகக் கொன்டது.
அகராதி:
அகரம் – அ என்னும் எழுத்து.
ஆதி பகவன் – முதன்மையான கடவுள்.

And God, primordial the world.
Meaning:
As the letter “A” is the first of the entire alphabetical letter; likewise, the entire world – movable and immovable — is sustained by the faith in God.

தூய அறிவு வடிவான இறைவனின் நல்ல திருவடிகளை தொழாமல் இருப்பாரானால், அவர் கற்ற கல்வியினால் ஆகிய பயன் என்ன?

What use is that learning which does not lead
To the blessed feet of pure intelligence?
Meaning:
The Lord is of the form of pure knowledge; without worshiping His Lotus feet, what is the use of learning education? Such education will be fruitless indeed.
